Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer
We are currently recruiting a
Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business. Location: Greater London
Salary: £62,401 per annum
Role Type: UK Skilled Worker Visa
Hours: 42 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off rotating days and nights (days one week, nights the next)
About the Role As a
Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a busy manufacturing site. Working across both day and night shifts, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, supporting continuous improvement projects, and helping maximise equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities - Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and automation faults
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Respond quickly to production breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Support engineering improvement projects
- Contribute to site performance improvements using KPIs
- Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams
- Assist with coaching and training colleagues where required
- Support site engineering activities to ensure operational efficiency
What We're Looking For - Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with automation systems is advantageous
- Completed Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
- C&G 2346-03 Electro-technical qualification or relevant engineering experience
- HNC in Electrical, Automation or Multi-Skilled Engineering is desirable
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing business requirements
