Key Account Manager Location: Scotland Salary: From £41,700 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Visa: UK Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship We are recruiting an experienced Key Account Manager to join an internationally recognised precision engineering business delivering complex projects across the Defence, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Aerospace sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project management professional to take ownership of customer projects from contract engagement through to completion, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, planning and procurement teams to deliver successful outcomes. About the Role As a Key Account Manager, you will act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, managing delivery against agreed timescales, quality requirements and financial targets. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor project progress, manage customer requirements and support continuous improvement, ensuring projects are delivered effectively while maintaining strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities
Manage projects from contract engagement through to successful completion
Take ownership of project delivery, timescales, quality and financial performance
Act as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle
Develop and monitor delivery programmes with the Planning team
Work with Procurement to manage supplier delivery and quality requirements
Coordinate pre-production activities across internal teams
Prepare project progress reports and communicate updates to clients
Manage scope changes and contract variations
Support Project Status Reviews and maintain project risk and opportunity registers
Coordinate responses to client technical queries
Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning and Procurement teams
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and improved customer satisfaction
What We're Looking For
Minimum 3 years' project management experience
Experience in a customer-focused organisation
Strong project planning and organisational skills
Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
A proactive, solutions-focused and target-driven approach
Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Experience with project planning tools
Experience within the Ministry of Defence or Oil & Gas sector would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other industries with strong project management experience will also be considered. A Project Management qualification is preferred but not essential. A degree-level qualification in Engineering or a relevant discipline would be desirable, but relevant professional experience will also be considered. What We Offer
