We are recruiting an experienced NDT Technician to join an internationally recognised precision engineering and manufacturing business supporting complex projects across demanding industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified NDT professional to develop their career within a highly specialised engineering environment, carrying out non-destructive testing and inspection to established procedures, specifications and international standards.

About the Role

As an NDT Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of non-destructive testing and inspection activities, interpreting and evaluating results, and producing accurate inspection records and reports.
You will work closely with internal teams, customers and external inspection representatives to ensure NDT requirements are understood and consistently achieved. The role also involves supporting equipment calibration, validation activities and the development of junior NDT personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Visual Inspection (VT) of components and welds
  • Perform Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Perform Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Carry out Ultrasonic Testing (UT), including weldment inspection
  • Perform thickness measurements as required
  • Interpret, evaluate and report NDT results in accordance with relevant procedures and specifications
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection results and documentation
  • Carry out and record daily, weekly and monthly equipment validation checks
  • Identify, record and report discrepancies where required
  • Ensure inspection activities are completed in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications and standards
  • Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment as required
  • Work with clients and client-appointed inspection personnel during inspection activities
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to Level I NDT personnel
  • Participate in technical meetings with clients and their representatives regarding NDT and inspection requirements
  • Provide NDT support to other areas of the wider business when required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and customer-focused activities
  • Support the wider operation of the facility through additional technical duties where required
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum PCN Level II qualification
  • Qualified in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)
  • Qualified in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), including 3.1 & 3.2 weldments
  • Qualified in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Qualified in Visual Testing (VT)
  • Strong practical understanding of NDT inspection processes and requirements
  • Ability to accurately interpret and evaluate inspection results
  • Experience working to technical procedures, specifications and recognised standards
  • Good computer literacy
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, client representatives and external inspection authorities
  • Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
