We are currently recruiting a
Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business. About the Role As a
Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of a busy manufacturing site by providing both electrical and mechanical engineering support. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, fault finding, and ensuring production equipment operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and health & safety.
Key Responsibilities - Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery
- Respond quickly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Support production by minimising equipment downtime
- Work with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Record maintenance activities using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Support engineering improvement projects
- Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety, food safety and company procedures
- Communicate effectively with engineering and production teams
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
What We're Looking For - Completed Engineering Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification)
- Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer within a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with PLCs, inverters and drives
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems (up to 415V)
- 18th Edition qualification is highly desirable
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems
