Assistant Engineering Manager - Skilled Worker Visa Opportunity

You will work closely with an experienced Engineering Manager as their
right-hand person, supporting the engineering function within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The role offers excellent long-term career progression, with the potential to develop into an Engineering Manager position.

- Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per year
- Role type: Full Time
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with flexibility required to support on-call work

About the Role As an
Assistant Engineering Manager, you will support the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day management of the engineering function, helping to maintain strong engineering standards, equipment reliability and production performance.
This is a well-established and high-performing engineering environment. The successful candidate will be expected to
maintain and build on existing standards, working closely with the Engineering Manager and wider site teams.
The role combines
people management, maintenance strategy, PPM, breakdown performance, engineering projects, compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities - Support the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day management of the engineering function
- Plan and manage the engineering team's workload
- Support maintenance strategy and PPM activities
- Monitor equipment performance, downtime and engineering KPIs
- Manage and prioritise engineering work requests
- Support the team in reducing breakdowns and unplanned downtime
- Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and support Engineers through training and performance reviews
- Provide engineering management cover when required
- Maintain strong communication between Engineering, Production and Site Management
- Ensure Health & Safety, compliance and engineering standards are maintained
- Provide clear handovers, reports and updates
- Help maintain and further improve existing engineering performance
What We're Looking For - Strong background as a Multi-Skilled Engineer
- Previous experience progressing into an engineering management or supervisory role
- Engineering Degree, HNC or relevant engineering experience
- Experience with PPM and maintenance management
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience managing or developing engineering teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships
- Flexibility to support on-call requirements
- Permit to Work trained
- Hot Work Permit trained
- Lean management experience
- Experience with Pirana systems would be advantageous
